Each of us are special in our own unique way. We were all put on the Earth--in this time and space--to make certain contributions to the human experience.
Many of us have experienced some things that have us asking ourselves "why is this happening to me?" We question why we have to endure certain things in our lives but I strongly believe the universe knows who we are destined to be and uses our life experiences (and sometimes the experiences of those close to us) to shape us and guide us to our destiny. The key is to shed the "victim" mentality, stay open and positive and express your gratitude (daily) for your experiences. This will lead you to the happiness and self-fulfillment you are seeking.

Mad as Hell
I'm a CNN junkie. This morning I tune in as usual to see what the world was up to while I was sleeping. I saw a segment with CNN correspondent, Carol Costello, entitled "Mad as Hell" discussing the bitter divide in America regarding politics, the economy and just about every other important area of our lives.
A lot of people are mad as hell. But what are they mad about? Hmmm, let's see: they're mad about the possibility of having stricter gun control laws, they're mad that the current administration wants to make sure that all legalized citizens have affordable, adequate health care, they're mad that we don't want to fund manufactured wars and loose our loved-ones who have to go and fight in these wars, they're mad that they are stalking around the country attending these outrageous "tea parties" and the media shows up--reporters and camera crews in tow--and documents their shenanigans for the world to see (and they blame the media for blowing things out of proportion) and last but not least, some people are simply mad because we have an African-American president (yes, I went there!).
We do have our share of issues in this country--many of which are self-imposed because we have become a nation of disrespectful, narcissistic, greedy, racist, classist, barbarians--acting out our personal fears in public like spoiled, petulant or dangerous, rabid animals.
When we get to a point where we are willing to look at ourselves, accept personal responsibility and do our part to help heal this great divide, we will cease to struggle and wallow in the negative energy that we have created. Instead of dwelling on fear and hatred, maybe we we could try living our lives with empathy, love, kindness and positivity. I know, I know, being negative and acting out is a whole lot more fun--until that negativity is pointed at you or someone in your family...
So, what say you? Are we ready to try something different? I honestly believe if were, we would be able to embrace the good and love that the Creator intended for us to experience in this lifetime.

Negative Energy
We all have moments when things (or relationships) in our lives are not going as well as we would like. During these times, it is easy to become bogged down with sad and negative energy. These feelings are relatively normal unless they start to follow you around like a toxic shadow--for days or even months....
Negative energy is a powerful magnet, drawing to you more of the same: negative people, negative situations, negative thinking, and even physical ailments. The longer you dwell in a negative space in your being, your whole world will continue to plunge into a downward spiral.
The best cure for negative energy is to stop it! Plain and simple. Just cut if off--like a TV program you no longer wish to view. Make a conscious decision to turn things around. There are many little things you can do to start to instantly feel better: a small smile, lending a hand to help a friend, a walk in nature, physical exercise or clearing the clutter in your home.
Whichever method you choose, eliminating the negative energy in your life will allow you to make room for positive energy and all of the life affirming goodness positive energy brings. If you would like to discuss more ways and tools to eliminate negative energy in your life, email me for a free 30 minute phone consultation. Feel free to share this post with a friend.

Happiness Attracts Abundance
Today, I read the statement "happy people earn $750,000+ more in their lifetime than others" and smiled to myself. I've known for some time that happiness attracts abundance because it's been my story my entire adult life.
I've always been blessed to have abundance in many areas of my life; relational, financial, emotional and physical (yep, even got up to a size 16 at one point in my life...lol). I sometimes questioned God and asked why, of all people, did He spare me from the fate of some of my friends and family. It's not that I wanted to suffer, I just wondered why I was spared. I'm really not sure. The only explanation that makes sense to me is that I am here to spread happiness, love and light so I graciously accept my assignment. Guess it's just one of life's delicious little mysteries and I'm so grateful.
Don't get me wrong, I have challenges just like everybody else but when I'm faced with obstacles or disappointments, I acknowledge the feelings and make a conscious decision about how I will deal the "stuff." When tears or grief are in order--and sometimes they are--I allow myself time to work through it. I set a time frame for me to get over whatever it is--usually 36 hours and after that time I pick myself up and then CHOOSE TO BE HAPPY! For me it's just that simple.
I don't know about you but unhappiness is not an option for me--it's someplace I visit from time to time (because I'm human) but I chose not to live there. I'm much more interested in attracting my share of the abundance our universe has to offer. If you're ever faced with a choice, choose happiness and you'll soon get your share as well.

Low-Hanging Fruit
We tend to think in broad terms—we’re accustomed to looking at the big picture: what we’ll be when we grow up, what we’ll do once we finish college, who we’ll marry, etc. While dreaming and setting goals are good, we often miss out on the magic of the present moment when we’re focused on the future.
Take a few moments to go deep within yourself. Feel where you are at this very moment. Give yourself credit and be grateful for the accomplishments you have already made. Acknowledge your greatness and uniqueness. Identify and use the low-hanging fruit currently available to you (ideas, creativity, skills, personality, contacts, etc.) to see what you can do to catapult yourself to the next level. Set shorter-term goals if necessary and use resources you have at your disposal right now to continue on your path to greater happiness and personal success.

A Muddled Mind
Muddle - (v) To think, act, or proceed in a confused or aimless manner
It started at 8:30 AM this morning...when I awoke I could feel that today would be no ordinary day. It was cloudy outside and I felt a little heaviness in the air around me. I made several attempts throughout the day to push past the fog and to emerge into the spunky, energetic, creative, results-driven person I know I am but today I have fallen short...
All day, my mind has been muddled. I have been restless, barely thinking and have definitely proceeded to act in a confused AND aimless manner. My Gemini energy is having its way with me--twisting me this way and that. I want to be productive—to be more present--and yet my desire to just BE is strengthening its hold on me. It is now 8:00 PM. I now know I must surrender to the inevitable...today's a wash. I forgive myself and love me anyway.
Tomorrow's a new day...I look forward to a new beginning!

Passion & The Law Of Attaction
What are you passionate about? Staying positive, spreading love, helping other people, negativity, drama, being the victim, being stuck in “woe-is-me” mode?...
When we are passionate about something, we release an undeniable, unstoppable energy that attracts to us the very thing we think most about or the thing we desire the most--positive or negative.
Have you ever had a day where one bad thing seems to set in motion an avalanche of unwanted occurrences or a really good day where there were great surprises around each corner? There is only one difference between the really good days and the really bad ones...your ATTITUDE.
If you remain passionate, positive and grateful for every experience, you feel happy and radiate this energy out into the universe. The universe reads this energy and says, "Ok, he/she wants to be happy so let's grant him/her more of the same..."
Don't take my word for it--try it for yourself. Pay close attention to your passions, desires and attitude. Make a conscious choice to be happy and positive and watch the blessings in your life begin to unfold at a rapid pace. It all starts with YOU, your attitude and your passion. If this post inspires you, please share it with a friend.
