Saturday is an Indigo Day

The Brow or Third Eye chakra (named Anja), located at the level of the forehead, is associated with and visualized as a deep indigo blue color. This is the center of visual, psychic and intuitive perception—the place where we store our memories, perceive our dreams, and imagine our future. It is also often referred to as the "third eye" or the "mind center." It is our avenue to wisdom--learning from our experiences and putting them in perspective.

The Brow chakra is our intuitive level, bringing us information through internally experienced visual imagery. Dreams are the clearest example of this. Clairvoyant sight is the ultimate example—the product of an open and functioning Ajna chakra. The purpose of this center is to become aware of the images inside our minds—the ones we perceive and the ones we create—so that this vast visual screen can be used consciously to call images at will and bring us information unavailable through other means.

For most of us, Saturday is a day for relaxing, doing household chores, shopping, socializing, etc. As you go about your day, surround yourself with the indigo color: wear indigo (blue jeans are the perfect attire for Saturdays) or indigo related gemstones like lapis or amethyst, eat blueberries or blackberries or listen to a Brow chakra meditation to bring balance and harmony to this center of perception. Strive for clarity of thought and perception and discard information that may keep you bound to the negative events in your life.

  1. Fascinating stuff. I love blueberries but they are very acidic so I can't eat as many as I'd like. Any other foods I can eat to enhance the indigo energy?

  2. Yes, any of the darker berries: blackberries, raspberries or red grapes (grape juice and red wine are also good). If acidity is a concern, you can alkalize your body by squeezing half a fresh lemon in warm water and drinking it several times a day. Organic lemons are best if you can get them. Alkalizing helps balance the acid content in the body.
